Preparing for the Holidays

Kiley and I created gum drop trees!

Decorating cookies...this one was topped with NERDS

Kiley enjoyed marshmellow snowmen cookies

We also had time for a quick trip to the park

This is Sally, our Elf.  We sure are going to miss her.

The Sticky Buns....so tasty!

I enjoyed having a full week off before Christmas just hanging out with my girls. Kiley stayed really busy, baking cookies, creating holiday decorations and ornaments, finding Sally, singing lots of Christmas carols, eating tons of candy and cookies, and spending a few hours at the park.   Oh, and watching the Grinch, like a thousand times! Hopefully I will update more on Christmas and our trip home soon. Happy Holidays everyone!  Looking forward to 2011 and making new memories!

Thanksgiving until now....

December 13th
Sickness strikes again. Kiley has been diagnosed with pneumonia and Ally is being tested for whooping cough and RSV. Breathing treatments, breathing treatments, medicine and medicine…..

December 11th
Ally has two teeth! Chewing and chewing on everything! She has also become quite brave with her pulling up. We are still not quite crawling, but she gets on all fours, moves her knees, then tumbles on her belly (she can do this until she reaches her object). She will also set herself back up into her sitting up position. It won’t be long and she will be unstoppable!

December 7th
Ally pulled up all by herself! I knew we were getting close! She had been pulling up on things, but never did I let her do it “all by herself”. However, with JC being out of town, Ally was able to have some time to explore (without her worry wart mom standing by at all times). I turned to check on her and she was standing! She had pulled herself up onto her little car and started moving it. These “BABY STEPS” are moving way too fast!

December 4th
Kiley had her first daycare friend, birthday party. I had an enjoyable time watching her at Rockdale Gymnastics celebrating with her friend, Kyra. Kyra and Kiley have been in daycare together from the beginning…baby room, to ones, twos/threes, and now moving on up to the big 4s and preschool next year. Yikes! My baby is growing up! They had lots of fun!

Kyra and Kiley trying to put their cheeks together for the picture.  Didn't quite "get it"!

Rock Climbing!

December 2nd
We had a chili evening in downtown Monroe at the Christmas Parade. It was a very big parade that we enjoyed with red noses, hot coffee and coffee milk for Kiley. The parade consisted of church floats, the local football team, cheerleaders, local dance studios, bands and more bands, baton twirlers, and ended with Santa appearance!

Ally was just as happy as she could be during the parade.

Daddy and his girls!

Silly little, Kiley!

November 28th
Kiley had her first big movie premier with just mommy, Toy Story 3. (However, this is not a newly released movie.) When I gave Kiley the choice to see Tangled or Toy Story, obviously, Toy Story was her pick. While at the movie, of course, we had to have coke, popcorn and candy. It was funny to watch Kiley because she had recently been sick with the flu and she was trying everything to stay awake. I found it funny, when she leaned over about ¾ into the movie and said, “Mommy, the fire is coming”. A little puzzled, I continued to watch and sure enough, fire. Then, “Mommy, they are all going to hold hands,” whispered Kiley. I quickly responded, “Kiley, have you seen this movie before?” “Yes Mommy, at school!” stated Kiley, annoyed that I interrupted her. So much for the excitement of seeing a new movie, however, it was what she wanted to see. I am proud of her behavior and enjoyed our mommy/daughter time. Can’t wait to go back….maybe to see Tangled.

Kiley all set to go to the movies.  Her purse was filled with goodies!
