Cuts

A bit bizarre.... Earlier this month, my husband landed himself in the ER for 4 stitches in his left index finger. He was making dinner and sliced it open with a bread knife...I didn't know a bread knife could do that much damage! I was out running when this happened, with no phone. When I picked up the phone, I freaked with 10 missed calls from my hubby. I knew he was home with our daughter. Luckily, she was fine. He even wrapped up his finger, cooked her a hot dog, and waited for our neighbor, Greg, to get home from work to take him to the emergency room. (Thanks, Greg!) I arrived just in time to witness the numbing shots--Yikes!

Oddly, I ended up at the ER yesterday, with a laceration to the right index finger. I was cutting with the big paper cutter at school. I was completely finished cutting and while cleaning up my scrapes, I rubbed my finger against the exposed blade. I was driven immediately to the ER--only I got glue...no scars, no going back to get the stitches out.

I can't speak for JC, but I don't think I will be cutting any paper for awhile...and I have noticed he isn't using the "good" knives yet either....

Pot-ty Time

First of all, I want to say we are not potty training our 18 month old yet! However, we purchased a little pink potty for her about a month ago. She had been watching us potty and making comments about it, so we thought--why not? Last night before her bath, she was playing around with the "big" potty. She was trying to sit on it, flush it and all that..she was also saying poop a lot. So, I sat her on it...and she actually PEED! Of course, we made a big deal about it! We are not going to push it, but if she asks....why not.

18 month check up

Today was Kiley's 18 month check up, only about 2 weeks late. She is doing awesome! Makes you feel like a proud momma when they ask questions and you can say, "Yes, she is doing that!" We only have to work on brushing her teeth two times a day, not one. She has grown 3 inches in the last 6 months! She is now 35 inches tall and 28lbs. She is repeating everything we say. My favorite is " I don't know..." I wish I could catch her saying it on video. As you parents know, they never say or do anything when you want them too! Hope everyone is doing well!
